I hope you are enjoying the long weekend!
Thank you for all the candy and cards on Valentine's Day! I enjoyed reading each note. I'm still working on the chocolate and candy, but they are delicious!
On Thursday, we begin our science unit "Light and Sound". Some of our activities need flashlights. The school's STEM lab has many flashlights, but no size D batteries. If you have extra flashlights that the first grade could borrow for about two weeks or D batteries to donate, please send them to school with your child.
Thursday is also Spirit Night at Scream'N Nuts. This is an all day event; come when you can!
Since we were unable to take a field trip in the fall, we are in the process of planning two field trips for the spring. One will be in conjunction with our Light and Sound unit. It will be at Fulton County's Teaching Museum. The other one is with our Plants and Animals unit. The location will be revealed to the students as a surprise as soon as we get the confirmation. If you bought a field trip shirt, it is in my closet. The students will put them on at school on the morning of the first field trip and then wear them home. The students can wear them for our second field trip and for field day.
March 9th will be our first Digital Learning Day! Suzanne Peterson, our Instructional Technology Specialist, and the teachers have put together online learning activities for our students. Completing the activities will make up a day that was lost due to inclement weather.
Have a great day!
