Happy Mother's Day! I hope you have a wonderful day! Your child made a surprise for you.
Thank you for all the cards, gifts, flowers, and snacks for Teacher Appreciation Week! My usually bare refrigerator is now covered with all the notes from the students! Each time I open it, I think of my class.
We have many activities coming the next two weeks.
Field Day - Wednesday, May 16th
Field Day will be different this year. We will have activities for only half of the day, 11:40 - 1:10. Please remember to put on sunscreen before coming to school! No one at the school may put it on your child. Our lunch will be a little earlier than usual, 10:45 - 11:15, and we will eat in our rooms. (We will still go to the cafeteria to purchase lunches.) Some of our activities include water. Your child may bring a towel with his or her name in it. There will be watering stations outside, however, we will also carry our water bottles. If anyone has a wagon that we could borrow, I sure would appreciate it.
As of right now, I have one volunteer to travel with our class from station to station. I would like another. If you are interested, please email me (First come; first served). All volunteers must be Raptor approved. Side note: Fulton County has updated Raptor and it has wiped all the scanned drivers' licenses in the system. Please bring your license with you so that Cindy can rescan it. You do not have to redo the online volunteer training (until next year).
As stated earlier, some of the stations include water. Your child can bring a change of clothes. Please send them in a labeled plastic bag.
Bruster's Ice Cream - Thursday, May 17th
Thursday is Spirit Night at Bruster's from 4 - 8 pm.
Pajama Day - Friday, May 18th
Water house has won Pajama Day for collecting the most money at the book fair.
Fairytale Ball - Monday, May 21st
To celebrate the end of our Fairytale unit in reading, we will be having a Fairytale Ball during Specials. Your child can dress up as a character. Please no props (swords, guns, masks).
End of the Year Class Party - Wednesday, May 23rd
The PTA has put together a carnival themed party. We look forward to all the fun, however, the first grade asks that only volunteers come to the class party.
Library books are due! Over due notes went home in your child's Thursday (went home on Friday) folder. If your child has any at home, please send them to school.
Have a wonderful week!
